Social Protection for Sustainable Development

About this Course

Social protection is at the heart of attaining the Global Agenda 2030’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Africa’s Agenda 2063. Effective social protection systems are vital to help those living in poverty to cope with crises and shocks, find employment, and live healthier and fulfilling lives. However, evidence indicates that significant vulnerabilities exist within the global economy, disproportionately affecting women compared to men. This intensive course is designed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of social protection systems, focusing on various approaches, design challenges, and implementation strategies. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, participants will explore the intricacies of social protection programming and critically evaluate the latest evidence and best practices in the field.
